New Year's Traditions

I think I am not the only one who has a type of “ritual” when the end of the year comes. I have heard many times different types of “must do” when the year pass, and some of them are really curious.
In my case, I need to have some grapes near the place where I am so, when the loud yelling’s of amusement and happiness comes at Midnight, after everyone have hugged  me, eat twelve small grapes , making a wish for every month of the year. Is not like I am that superstitious, but it isn’t a bad tradition after all.

But I’ve heard other rituals that are quite interesting to tell. Some makes the same idea of the grapes but with other types of food, many of them been legumes. In that case, you need to eat twelve spoons with plenty of whatever legume you choose (as they can be lentil, chickpea or beans) making twelve wishes for every month.
Others traditions I've heard are having ready a travel case with you for having the opportunity to travel to foreign countries, or cleaning the house for all the bad things of the last year to be cleansed and not be transferred to the new one.

In my case, I’m still wondering… what twelve wishes will I make? At least I have three more days to find them out.

Traveling... Chile!

If I would have money, rather than visiting another country, I would stay in Chile, but travel from the northern part of it to the southern one. For me, Chile has an amazing amount not only of climates and habitats, but also of animals, plants and cultures.
I would visit every corner, from the big cities, to little villages and the wilderness itself. See all the landscapes of the dessert, from dawn to dusk. Visit the Patagonia and all the wonder in it. I would like to see all of the southern isles, even to the Antarctic part of Chile.
It would not only study (looking all of  wonders must be a kind of study, in my opinion) but also to have many experiences for my future. Know not only the different types of cultures in our country, but also life learning itself.
Why looking to a foreign country if ours is as beautiful as them? Not many countries can say that they have one of the most arid desserts at the north and, in the south, glaciers and beautiful forests all over the place.
I would like to stay and learn what my land gives before anything else.

Auto-Formation Workshop

With some friends, we are planning a workshop of auto-formation. What will we do? Basically we will read some text from a subject or theory in particular and we will try to make a good reflection about them.
This was like an answer to some problems we saw we had with the mobilizations, that was the lack of real thought about the proposals we’ve made. We wanted to make them heavier, look to others perspectives that we didn’t look before, so to us to progress in our ways of thought.

The importance of this is that as a class (because any one of them are invited to join) look other ways to see the educational problem and, in some way, be ready to the next year. Also, this could unify us a little more, and learn for other future subjects.

Unity of our class, more knowledge and to be ready to the next year’s mobilizations’. What’s better than that?

A New and Strange Term

Is not like I hate summer or warmer seasons without a specific reason. In fact, I have one.
I really, REALLY, need a cold weather to keep concentration intact. Obviously, with summer and 30ºC minimum every day for all week, there will be a huge problem on my concentration meanwhile I'm in classes. That will be far more obvious in subjects that aren't of my likes at all! For instance, Archaeology will be a real odyssey for keeping me wake up, because not only for me is boring, but the other effect that warm weather has in my organism is somnolence. In other words? It makes me fall asleep.
Overall, it doesn’t mean that the semester will be horrible. Rather than that, I'm sure that it will be easier than the other one for two reasons: first of all, I have more experience in University. And second, the reading is much funnier than the other term.
Above subjects and university, it will be a new experience (and not a good one if someone thinks about it) to study in Christmas. One day, a cousin laughed and said "We will keep stored some food for you meanwhile we are eating!" It wasn't very nice, but that's reality.
But no one knows how it will be the future. Maybe it isn't as horrible as it appears. At least I pray for not to be worse.
